Prior to commencing her studies on the organ, Kadri Toomoja had been a piano student under Reet Jürgens, later continuing in Tallinn Music High School under Anu Nahkur, before specialising in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT) with piano professor Toivo Nahkur – graduating with honours in June 2017.
During her time in EAMT, Kadri became interested in playing the organ, and began taking her first lessons alongside her speciality piano lessons during her second undergraduate year.
Within one year of commencing her organ playing career, Kadri had become very much in demand as an accompanist on the organ, performing with EAMT Symphony Orchestra, EAMT Mixed Choir, the Estonian National Male Choir, Tallinn Music High School Youth Choir, girls’ choir Ellerhein, and by invitation from conductors Tõnu Kaljuste, Mikk Üleoja, Toomas Kapten, Ingrid Kõrvits, Mai Simson, Benjamin Kirk, Kuldar Schüts, Ingrid Roose and many others.
Kadri was appointed accompanist with girl’s choir Ellerhein in 2015, where she accompanies at the organ or behind the piano.
In autumn 2017, Kadri started her Master’s Degree as an organist in EAMT, under professor Andres Uibo.
